Pink Shelf – Carolien Bosch

Original artwork! By Carolien Bosch

The organic form of the butterflies softens the harsh, geometrical lines. The other way around, the taut, graphic lines make the butterflies pop out in all their beauty. Extremes intensify one another. Powerful in its simplicity, these artworks are suited both as statement pieces or in a series.

The vulnerability of both faces and butterflies is another similarity that connects the two. Both require care to avoid damaging them. The butterflies soften the expression of the face and give it a dreamy or extra powerful appearance. By placing the butterflies strategically on and around the face, they evoke associations of beautiful thoughts springing from the mind.
