Wedgwood – Carolien Bosch

Original Art work !  by Carolien Bosch

Crockery and butterflies appear to have little in common, but nothing could be further from the truth. Both are known for their symbolic meaning of luck, beauty and fragility. In terms of varieties and colours crockery is as diverse as butterflies: it ranges from classic white to hand painted in bright colours. Crockery is a common utensil, but it is also displayed as an artwork in a showcase. Although crockery is hard to the touch, it’s fragile, just like the butterfly. The interaction between crockery and butterflies shows how beauty and fragility enhance one another and how the most common objects can transform into something beautiful.
