Maria de Vries
The source of her art is without a doubt her art of living. She goes through life with open senses and is touched by what her eyes see and her hands feel. She can be enjoy and be moved by the smallest things. Whether it is about people – young or old, in relation to each other or to the viewer, at rest or in action – about animals or about nature in a broader sense, she can always be touched. And she stores that experience, both the images and accompanying emotions. She is therefore constantly “loaded” and never has to look for what is called “inspiration” in artists circles. that surplus of information and feelings seeks a way out in her. She cannot live without paint and brush.
